If you’ve read my newsletter or ever worked with me, you know I take content seriously. It’s not just about putting words together, it’s about telling the right story, in the right way, to the right people. And that takes research, context, strategy, and… yes, sometimes AI.
But not the “robot-writes-your-blog” kind. Here’s how I really use AI in my process, and what I’ll never do.
First things first: Your voice is human. Always.
Every piece of content I deliver is crafted to reflect your brand, message, and goals. I don’t rely on AI to write full pieces or make decisions for me. I use it the way a strategist would use a whiteboard or a research assistant to spark ideas, not to replace thinking.
So, how do I use AI?
When helpful, I may use AI tools to:
- Kickstart ideas: Like warming up before writing. I sometimes use AI to brainstorm angles, generate outlines, or explore phrasing options.
- Speed up research: From identifying industry trends to summarizing dense reports or customer pain points faster, AI can help me find useful insights, faster.
- Organize messy thoughts: Ever have 12 open tabs and no idea where to start? AI can help me see the structure in the chaos before I write the real thing.
- Polish and proofread: I’ll sometimes run drafts through AI to catch clunky sentences, grammar slips, or passive voice, and then I review it all myself before you ever see it.
- Roleplay as your reader: I might ask AI to take on the mindset of your client or lead, just to test how persuasive a draft sounds from their side.
What I don’t do
- I never feed your proprietary or confidential info into public AI tools.
- I don’t use AI to generate final drafts, your content is shaped by strategy, voice, empathy, and context (the things AI still can’t do well).
- I won’t let AI write your story. That’s your job, and mine is to help you tell it well.
Why does this matter?
Because content should feel like you, not like a robot trying to sound human. AI can help me move faster, stay inspired, and bring sharper thinking to our projects. But the heart of my work will always be real, thoughtful, and intentional.
If you’re ever curious about how I’m using AI in your content, or prefer that I don’t use it at all, let’s talk! My job is to make the process easy and transparent, so you can focus on what you do best.
